PRospective Evaluation of interventional StudiEs on boNe meTastases (PRESENT+)

The PRESENT+ cohort is a Dutch prospective multicenter cohort including patients with bone metastases referred to the departments of radiation oncology or orthopedic surgery. The cohort started in 2013 and is still ongoing. PRESENT+ follows the Trials within Cohorts (TwiCs) design and serves as an infrastructure for efficient and pragmatic (randomized) treatment evaluation. Clinical (follow-up) data and patient reported outcomes are collected prospectively.

      Trials within Cohorts (TwiCs) At cohort inclusion, patients are asked informed consent for 1) use of routinely collected data including baseline demographics, disease and treatment characteristics, and clinical follow-up data, 2) prospective collection of patient-reported outcomes, and 3) randomization into future intervention studies where they will be offered the intervention when allocated to the intervention group, or serve as a control without notification.
